Propylene glycol ester of alginate produced by reacting it with propylene oxide. Alginates are natural ingredients that are extract from brown seaweeds.
This ingredient is very versatile and can form gels, films, thicken, and stabilize.
Propylene Glycol Alginates are commonly used in salad dressings, mouth wash, pizza, beverages, bakery products, alcoholic beverages, and frozen desserts.
PGA works especially well for stabilization in acidic conditions.
Different viscosities can be achieved by using certain grades of Alginates. The viscosity ranges low viscosity, middle viscosity and high viscosity.
