The sodium alginate is one natural polysaccharide extracted from brown seaweed, made from α-L-Mannuronic acid (M section) and β-D-Guluronic acid (G section) connected through 1,4-glucosidic bond. The appearance is white-off or light yellow powder without any favor. Its molecular formula is (C6H7O6Na)n.
1) hydrophilic: easily soluble in water forming thickening solution, mainly used as food additives
2)high PVI: features good PVI in textile printing, better than other gel
3)gelling agent: used in jellies and bionic foods.
4) thickening agent: widely application in pharmaceutical, textile, printing & dyes, papermaking, daily chemicals
5) stability: widely application in cold drinks and foods as stabilizer, thickener, emulsifier
6) health care function: As a natural cellulose, sodium alginate lowers blood pressure, lower blood fat, lower cholesterol, prevent fatty liver; hinder the absorption of radioactive elements; helps rid the body of heavy metals; increase satiety, accelerate gastrointestinal peristalsis, prevent constipation and lose weight.
